Easter

Jordyn and Paige had friends over today, I overheard the girls talking about Easter, what everyone is doing tomorrow and Jordyn says, "you know, easter is NOT about jellybeans, and eggs and bunnies.  It is really about Jesus and him dying and coming back to life."  mamas heart is proud.

Juice

Paigey says, "this is good juice, what kind is it?"
To which I say, "look and see"
"Hmmm..." She says, "banana, meat and orange."

my sweet three year old Paigey....  She has her little heart fixed on her childhood buddy Travis...  (His mom and I are okay with the arranged marriage idea...  we'd make good inlaws, and those two sweet kiddos sure do have a special place in their heart for each other.  Only time will tell!)

Well, the other day as I laid down with her to get ready for her nap, she says, "Can't kids get married, Mom?"
"Nope, baby," I said, "You have to wait to you're grown up."
"Okay." She says and rolls over.  Pauses, then says, "Well, when I am grown up and I get to marry Travis,  we are going to get married in our backyard and have a party and eat fruit and vegetables.  And I am going to wear a beautiful dress and a cape on my head."

ps...  listening to tim McGraw's "My little girl" as I write this...  just saying, if you feel like crying and thinking of Paigey in her Cape.  :)

Souperbowl

Jordyn just asked what the Super Bowl is about and if it is held at soup plantation.

I feel like a grownup

Mom and I were talking about downton abbey, and Jordyn asked if she could watch that show too...
Me:  it's kind if a grownup show...
J:  well I feel like a grownup, I have a purse that has things in it.

All morning she's been adding things to a purse that she found while I was cleaning out a drawer in my kitchen... Included is:
My old driver license
A ring
A bag of change
A coupon for chick-fil-a
Dental floss
Listerine strips
Bandaids
A sand timer
A compass
A necklace
A whistle


Ahh. To be six and be a grownup. :)

morning cuddles

this morning i was cuddling my little sleepyhead jordy pie...  She crawled into my bed rocking her morning bedhead and quickly wrapped her little arms around me.  I told her how much i loved morning cuddles with her.

she said, "i know, I miss when we could do this everyday!"  (the seemingly unending nature of the school year is setting in).

"I do too," I told her.  "We could just snuggle as long as we wanted to with nowhere to go!"


To which she responded, "Those were the days."

I don't take picture of her rocking bedhead often, but here is what that sweet little girl looks like in the morning as taken from her sisters birthday a few months back...  She's in the background, but you get the idea fo the little tossed and turned face that wakes me up with these delightful thoughts.  :)
